I Don’t Want You to Go Viral

I don’t want you to go viral. Okay, okay, it would be pretty great if you did. But going viral shouldn’t be your goal.

So many brands just want to “go viral.” Going viral just for the sake of going viral isn’t going to bring in the right type of audience for your brand.

Your goal is to attract potential paying customers, not random people who don’t understand you or what you’re doing. Showcasing your value stems from showing potential new customers that you not only understand their problems, but can solve them too. Set goals about the type of customer you want to attract to your page, then build out your content around that.

You can’t plan to go viral, but you can plan to make really top notch content that resonates well with your audience and leads them to be really responsive.

My take? Create content that your audience will be really excited about and find value from and people will flock. It’s more important to work on creating community within your target audience rather than going viral for the sake of going viral.

So you might be wondering, how can you even do that? Start by speaking to a solution to a problem that people in your niche need to hear. Work on becoming that go-to source for your niche and building trust with your audience. Use engaging hooks to reel in new customers and retain your current ones. And most importantly: repurpose content that performed well to attract new audiences!
